My Letter on your 1st Birthday

Got the idea of writing a letter for my baby on his birthday from a nawie sis (and my wedding coordinator) Clarice. So here’s my letter for Jared on his birthday, I hope I can do this on his every birthday 🙂

 ***************

Dear Jared,

Wow, it has been a year already since you came out of Mommy’s womb. Time flies really fast when you’re having fun. And I’m definitely having fun with you around. A lot has change in me and in my life ever since you came, and I embrace all those changes. What’s important is that I have you.

It hasn’t been easy for me the first few weeks, being a first-time Mom and giving birth via CS , plus not having your Dad around during those days. But despite the difficulty, I knew then that everything will be ok because I have you. When Daddy came home from work when you were around 3 ½ months, we were full of happiness that you finally met each other.

The past few months have been busy for the 3 of us making sure we spend quality time bonding with you, especially because we know that Daddy would need to leave again for work. And now, on your 1st birthday, Daddy has been away for 1 month already. It’s been a difficult phase for us again. But rest assured that despite Daddy’s absence, Mommy is doing her best to raise you well. Dada wanted so much to be here most esp on this special day, but it is a sacrifice that he has to make for our future. Sorry baby if I am also not there for/with you 100% of the time even if I really want to. Just like Dada, Mommy also needs to work. But I hope I am doing enough to make it up to you every night and during weekends. As much as I want to be a perfect Mom, I know I am far from one. I admit I have my shortcomings, but I am trying my best to be a better Mom for you. Having you as my baby makes me want to be a better person.

I am proud of you for being such a good and smart baby. I hope and pray that you continue to be such. I always pray that God will bless you with good health. And that we (Mommy, Daddy, Lolo and Lola) will also be in good health always so we can properly take care of you. I also pray for Him to guide us so we can raise you the way He wants us to be. I do hope you grow up to be a really good, loving and God-fearing person.  I thank God for giving you to us, you are such a wonderful blessing. Thank you so much for all the love and joy that you bring to the family.

Daddy and Mommy love you so much!

As what I always sing to you every night,

I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always

As long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be…
